I have an 86 Ranger Last week I was driving and it just shut off. would crank over, hard spark, couldn't hear fuel pumps run when key cycled. Had towed home. went out next morning (had to jump it off another vehicle) pumps ran, fired up ran about 1 min shut off. turned key off and back on, fuels pumps didn't run. let set 5 mins. turn key on fuel pumps run, fires up runs 1 min shuts off. tried changing relay same outcome run 1 min shut off. changed control module (used module) on distributor, fired up ran about 5 mins shut off, cycle key no pumps. Had spark whole time. put on new control module. now i have no spark and pumps don't run. If i unplug the fuel pump hot wire i get 12v for about 1 sec when key is turned on. if i reconnect the wire i get about .5v for 1 sec. both pumps run when hot and ground are run from battery directly to each pump sepeately. what is the problem? could it be the EEC
