This thing has got me stumped. I had both the starter and battery tested and both were ok. All it does is jam up when i attempt to crank it. If i put a wrench on the cam shaft and rotate the engine backwards it will move, but if i rotate it forward it jams at a certain position. Several iterations of the aforementioned sequence eventually loosen the drivetrain and allow the engine to start. When the engine finally does resume normal operation excessive steam is produced at the exhaust. Apparently i have a water leak that's filling the cylinders with steam and condensing as as it cools. I've decided I'm in over my head but i don't really have a choice but to try and fix this one since money is tight these days. Can anybody tell me what to take off first in order to get to the root of the problem? (and don't say your wallet!)
