Most of the time the starter just whirs, and occasionally engages. I've long
avoided flooding her. Should the motor happen to engage, then, she 'purrs in
to life' like a good' un. 68K genuine. Has she got a damaged starter ring?
Or dare i change the SM. Past history - when hot, had a tendency, when
cranking, to make the starter sound like a cement mixer being cleaned with
heavy stones in it! Overall - how difficult a problem?
I'm too old to do the work myself, but, I do need good advice before
involving the 'specialists'.
