It made sense. Buick was a road car, so they called it a Roadmaster.
Perfect name.

Chevrolet was a low priced entry level car. So make a Business Coupe.

Pontiac was the next step up. Name it the Chieftain.

Olds was a high powered car, so call it the Rocket 88.

Buick Roadmaster.

LaSalle. Bring back this wondrous automobile. Name it the LaSalle.

Cadillac. Go to Watts and count the Caddies going into the welfare office
parking lot. This is the one GM make that should be dropped now and
forever because its synonomous with darkies. Stick the Northstar engine in
the LaSalle so all won't go to waste.

In the 50' s the Roadmaster had the nickname, Roadbastard. Daddy-O had
a 50 Roadbastard.

I doubt you'll see a new one now.

Hell, even all the Cadillac names are gone now - replaced with three
letters names.

The Buick Lucerne commercials are reallly being shown in the Chicago
area now.

I'm never sure what those French Buick names are meant to suggest. Is
it supposed to mean they will never quit running?

The Lucerne commercials get quite a bit of airplay on the Washington, DC
stations as well. They look like nice cars, at least as much as one can
tell from a TV ad.
