In their repective classes, bozo. The c5r has won Lemans in its class
for years in a row now. I know Ford has won it, and Bentley as well.
Times change, eh?
The point is the z-06 is an amazing vehicle. I know your 924 will
outhandle and outperform it. Keep smoking that crack...

Are you Devils924 buddy? you guys sound alot alike. Look at the
prices of used boxters.
Read, find out the facts.
Yes, I guess it is the US mfg's copying porsche by intalling WATER
cooled front engine designs! I'm hoping Covette will offer hand
painted center caps for $500 that will make the car perform on that top
tier..
Isn't the Carrera GT a water cooled V motor witha NON-METALLIC body?
Porsches first plastic car??

check out http://www.corvetteracing.com. here's a quote:

DETROIT - Corvette Racing dominated the American Le Mans Series for the
fifth straight year in 2005, but it wasn't easy. The introduction of
the new Corvette C6.R race cars, the emergence of powerful new rivals,
and the impact of new rules shaped the season for Chevrolet's two-car
factory team.

The yellow Corvettes raced to 10 victories in 11 starts, including the
team's fourth win in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Chevrolet won the ALMS
GT1 manufacturers championship for the fifth consecutive year, and
Corvette Racing swept the drivers, team and pit crew championships.
When the checkered flag fell on the victorious Corvette C6.R of newly
crowned GT1 champions Oliver Gavin and Olivier Beretta at the ALMS
season finale in Monterey, Calif., it marked Corvette Racing's 45th win
in international endurance racing and the team's 31st 1-2 finish.

Here are your LeMans winners since 1984.

The Corvette has won exactly none. The Corvette has won it's class 2
years in a row. (They lost when Ferrari decided to race.) Winning your
class is NOT winning LeMans. Hell, the Porsches win their class too.

<Look at the prices of used boxters.>

So you are saying you are proud of the fact that your flagship car is
comparable to Porsches entry level car? Congratulations.

<I'm hoping Covette will offer hand
painted center caps for $500 that will make the car perform on that top

tier.. >

Corvettes aren't moving off the lot with $6000 rebates added, what
makes you think that they could afford an accessory like that?

<Isn't the Carrera GT a water cooled V motor witha NON-METALLIC body?
Porsches first plastic car?? >

There is a world of difference between the low grade fibreglass body of
the Corvette (yet another cost saver) and the Porsche patented mono
body carbon fibre body of the Carrera GT. The "Plastic Coffin" monkier
given the Corvette comes from somewhere. Please educate yourself
somewhat before posting your inane commentary here.

Big F-ing deal...you won your class. (Excepting, that is, when Ferrari
decided to step up a few years back and remind you of just where you
fall on the racing food chain).

Why not post the GT2 class as well? If that is your gauge.

Winning your class IS NOT winning LeMans, and if it is...then
congratulations, the 924GTR won LeMans in 1979.

You are truly an idiot. Better go back to NASCAR, a form of racing easy
enough for you to understand.

Full of shit once again. The number 2 you mention above is your IQ I
suspect . Didn't you also state the cayenne (the US copied the SUV
idea from Porsche too?) had a payload of 7000lbs?

24 Hours of Le Mans

2001 vette wins lemans 1-2 GTS victory
2002, vette win lemans 1-2 GTS victory

2003
Corvette Takes 1-2 GTS Class Victory at The 24 Hours of Le Mans 2003

"Corvette Tops Ferrari in legendary endurance race

LE MANS, France - The General Motors Chevrolet Corvette Racing team won
a dramatic GTS class battle at the 24 Hours of Le Mans on Sunday. The
#64 Corvette C5-R of Oliver Gavin, Olivier Beretta and Jan Magnussen
took the GTS victory, finishing sixth overall, while the #63 Corvette
of Ron Fellows, Johnny O'Connell and Max Papis took second place
honors."

2004. Corvettes win the Lemans GTS class positions 1 & 2
2005 Covettes win the lemans GTS class positions 1 & 2 again...

Porrsche does not compete in the same category as the vettes. They are
a step down from GTS.

Let me step in here. In 2003 Ferrari won the GTS class at Le Mans.

In GTS Class, the Prodrive Ferraris spoiled both the Corvette's 50th
Anniversary and the hat trick by winning GTS Class.

<hows you used bmw?>

Is what it is...a commuter car. A definite step down from a Porsche, but a
different animal altogether, so I don't know how fair it is to compare. The
BMW has a little more bite than the Audi A6 Quattros I was looking at. I
have the ASC&T option as well as some of the luxury options like heated
seats and all leather. I don't plan on hanging onto her for more than a year
or two, but like I said, it is what it is, a commuter car. I can comfortably
take clients out in it, my sons booster seat fits in it and most of all, I
put it in drive and off I go at 10MPH to work.

I think that corvette is better choice, because it's as good as Porsche. Personally i prefer Corvette, but how you know-Porsche is Porshe and there's nothing to add. If you want some usefull information about this, you can find it here:
http://www.car-catalog.com/sports_cars/chevrolet_corvette.htm
Hope it helps for you to decide.
