New Scam (Supposedly for real...) |

Subject: New way to car jack (Not a Joke)
Subject: A NEW WAY TO CAR JACK (NOT A JOKE)
Please keep this circulating...
You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car, and get inside.
Then start the engine
and shift into REVERSE, and you look into the rearview mirror to back out
of your parking space and you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle
of the rear window. So, you shift into PARK, unlock
your doors and jump out of your car to remove the paper (or
whatever it is) that is
obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when
the car-jackers
appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off! Your engine was
running and they
practically mow you down as they speed off in your car. And guess what
ladies? I bet your
purse is still in the car...
BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.
Just drive away and remove the paper that is stuck to your window later,
and be thankful that you read this email. I hope you will forward this to
friends and family... especially to women! A purse contains all of your
identification, and you certainly
do NOT want someone getting your home address. They already HAVE your keys!

please dont circulate this, it is a myth, just do a google search for a few
lines of the text.

The Truth
It pays to be wary of any unique scheme a thief might use to take your car
but there is no evidence from law enforcement agencies that this has
happened at all.

Getting out of ones vehicle and not removing the keys and letting it run and
is a bit stupid. People do it all the time. however, even though it is
against the law in most every state. If one wants to steal a car all they
need do is wait outside a 'Stop and Rob,' as the cops call convenience
stores, on any hot or cold day of the week and take their pick I read
where some cops took the keys from cars left running at various 'Stop and
Robs' They waited till the drivers reported the vehicle stolen then issued
them a citation. They had over 50 in just an hour or so. The Chief said on
TV. 'We did it to make people aware of how foolish they were to let their
vehicles run while unattended' LOL
