How to repair an ignition coil |

I got a 79 Ford pickup F150 with a 400 engine. Last week the truck
did not want to start. After a week of tinkering, I found the coil
appeared to be the problem. I finally confirmed that when I borrowed
the coil from my wife's car. With her coil, my truck ran great.
But after listening to her bitch for 3 days, I put her coil back in
her car. So now my truck wont run again.
I am trying to fix my coil but cant seem to figure out how to get the
top off of it. I know its just a bunch of wire wrapped around some
steel so I know I can fix it once I get the top off that tin can that
is around it.
Anyone know how to get that top off?

Yeah, You cut the top off and then throw it away and buy a new one,
because you cannot get the top back on and sealed properly. What
exactly are you saving be thinking it is a repairable item????

everything these days. Why cant I repair it if its just a coil of
wire. I can wind wire while I drink my beer and watch the soaps.
I can seal the top with ducttape. Everything can be fixed with
ducttape.
