We were fighting defined, uniform-wearing opposing forces. Define "win" in
the current situation.

What's the difference, they both are/were trying to kill YOU and we (The
U.S.) are trying to defend your stupid ass. BTW, if you don't like it
then get the hell out. Go over to France and I mean NOW.

The major media is not the only soured of news today. There are
many
sources available today for people to get both sides of an
agreement.
There are numerous sources showing the likes of President
Clinton,
Senators Kennedy, Byden etal making the same case, with the same
information, all the way back to five years before Bush was
President.
The difference is President Bush, unlike Clinton, did what was
necessary to obtained new UN resolutions supporting action
against
Iraq for failing to comply with the previous resolutions and then
actually enforced them.

Yep he had Powell lie to the UN.

He also went back again to the Congress to obtain yet another
authorization for the President to go to war with Iraq.

And he lied to Congress too.

By doing precisely what the President has been doing. He is doing what he
promised the American people he would do, on numerous occasions, from day
one on 9/11. 'We will hunt down and kill those that attacked us today and
all those that support terrorists and all those that harbor them. No matter

I don't believe there is really an unwillingness to fight. What has
happened is those that oppose the President knew they could not attack him
in time of war. To do so they had to try to separate the war in Iraq, from
the war on terrorists. They relied on the fact that the balance of the WMDs
that Iraq listed they had in the first gulf war cease fire and what was
known by most every inelegance agency in the world, but could not be found
after the war and the subtleness of Iraq connection to the particular
terrorists that attacked us. To that end.by separating the Iraq war from
the war on international Islamic terrorist they were able to attack the
President and his goal of a free democratic country in the mid east. Once
they had accomplished that with the help of the mass media and the loonies
on the left, they began to attack the very premises of the war itself by
attempting to re-writing, claiming this President who they want us to look
upon as a dunce, was able to 'confuse' them into voting him the authority to
go to war. It is sad to think that the once great party of FDR would sink
so low, in the beginning of what may be the first war to destroy American
cites, for short term political gain. FDR, Truman and Kennedy must be
spinning in their graves. The irony is as some in America are loosing the
will to fight, members of some in NATO are starting realize, as they are
attacked by radicals , that is time for NATO to focus on the fight against
international terrorist as well. We shall see, I suppose. I can only hope
it is not too late as it almost was with our entrance into WW II because of
the anti war kooks back then

I hope not. With wealth and comfort comes the unwillingness to defend
what brought us all of this. I like to call it .... fat, dumb and
happy syndrome.

My father was in the army twice. The first time in 1937 he enlisted.
The second, just after the breakout of war in the Pacific he was
drafted. Can you imagine the outcry today if there were a mass draft
implemented.

The major media is not the only soured of news today. There
are many
sources available today for people to get both sides of an
agreement.
There are numerous sources showing the likes of President
Clinton,
Senators Kennedy, Byden etal making the same case, with the
same
information, all the way back to five years before Bush was
President.
The difference is President Bush, unlike Clinton, did what was
necessary to obtained new UN resolutions supporting action
against
Iraq for failing to comply with the previous resolutions and
then
actually enforced them.

Yep he had Powell lie to the UN.

He also went back again to the Congress to obtain yet another
authorization for the President to go to war with Iraq.

And he lied to Congress too.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing about you. If you can't bewilder them
with your brilliance, then baffle them with bullshit, eh? :

"I don't believe there is really an unwillingness to fight. What has
happened is those that oppose the President knew they could not attack him
in time of war.
I can only hope
it is not too late as it almost was with our entrance into WW II because of
the anti war kooks back then"

You are proving the old adage that the more convoluted your explanation is,
the more full of shit you are.

By doing precisely what the President has been doing. He is doing what
he promised the American people he would do, on numerous occasions, from
day one on 9/11. 'We will hunt down and kill those that attacked us
today and all those that support terrorists and all those that harbor
them. No matter who they are or were they are. We will cut them off
from their supporter and the cut all funds that support terrorist from
wherever they may come'

Sounds great! Unfortunately, he changed his mind and invaded Iraq.

The patriots among us will not quit before the war is won. We lost
15,000 Americans on the beaches of Normandy. Over 8,600 Marines died
on Iwo Jima and we did not loose our will to kill those who would kill
us. Surly Americans today, who kill each other on our highways at the
rate of 43,000 or more a year, are not now going to loose their will
to win this war as well. Particularly when Iraq will have their own
duly elected government, in two weeks, just as the President promised
less than three years ago.

We were fighting defined, uniform-wearing opposing forces. Define
"win" in the current situation.

Not likely to happen, sport. Is there a ballpark figure on how many
of them have to be killed before we win their hearts and minds? You
know what I mean, that point where they suddenly decide to like us
and lose interest in terrorism.
