Altima w/ 6 speaker systems has bad rear amplifier? |
|
|
I recently purchased a 1993 Nissan Altima GLE with the six speaker
system. And wouldn't you know it within two days of purchase, the rear
speakers started acting up. When I initially start the car, the rear
speakers produce no sound. Sometimes if I am lucky, after about a half
our of driving, I they suddenly come on and all is good.
Given that this system has two amplifiers, one for the rear speakers
and one for the front speakers, I am inclided to believe it is the
amplifier at fault. A very quick test would be to swap the amplifiers
since they are basically identical. Or are they?
1. Does any one know if the Clarion EN-9611-54 is interchangable with
the EN-9611-55?
Regardless of the outcome of the test, I am considering purchasing a
brand new unit (I need my MP3's) and replacing the stock unit. I have
two options for wiring the new unit. I can place a Scosche amplifier
adapter (Scosche model OEA4) in line to convert the deck outputs to
line-level to connect to the existing amps. Or I can bypass the
amplifiers all together.
2. Does anybody have experience either way?
3. Does anybody know the pin out of the Clarion amplifiers?
Thanx to all who reply.
