Stupid Idiot Part Manufacturers |

I just got a muffler for my car. It's pretty obvious how a muffler
goes between 2 pipes. Getting it on those 2 pipes is another story,
especially when they are used and have clamp ridges. However, after 4
hours and 400 cuss words I finally did it.
But here's the idiot part. The muffler came in a box with all kinds
of adaptors and instructions. The instructions are in English,
Spanish, and several other languages. There are 4 pages of them. The
first page is safety crap, and how to jack up the car (DUH). The next
2 pages are how to remove the old muffler, lubricating clamp nuts (as
if anyone reuses them), and so on. The last page states "You have
purchased a quality muffler for your car. This carton contains all
the parts you need to replace your muffler except the installation
clamps". Then we have that same thing in all the other languages.
Finally, it says "Before you attempt to replace your old muffler, read
these instructions which contain helpful hints and safety precautions
to help you replace your worn out muffler quickly and safely".
(Ahhhhh, I just read them, IDIOT....)
Below this, it lists all the tools that they claim are needed.
These instructions NEVER mention what adaptors are needed for what.
Never says ANYTHING about installing the new one, etc.
OK, I can live with that except for one thing.
The muffler has an arrow on iot, with "A" and "B".
One end is the for one is the rear. It NEVER tells you which end is
which. OF ALL THE THINGS IN THE INSTRUCTIONS, THIS IS THE ONE THING I
NEEDED TO KNOW THE MOST..... (not even a mention of it)
Fortunately I know a guy who is a retired mechanic and I was able to
phone him to find out. I assumed the "A" went to the front, but I
wasn't going to install it to later do it all over again. I realize a
mechanic probably knows this, and now I do too, but not all of us are
full time mechanics.
What kind of morons write these instructions? The only reason I even
read the blasted instructions was to find out which end to put
forward. If this is the quality of the instructions, I fear how this
muffler is going to hold up.

That's it....
