Any tips or advice on shipping a fiberglass body from the states to Canada?
How about customs and brokerage info? Transportation companies?

Thanks

Eugene-
US Kit Cars are not importable to Canada, according to the Registrar of
Imported Vehicles - www.riv.ca
Unless, of course, it's over 15 years old.

Hi Eugene! It's been a while! Do you still have your website? If so, please
remind me of the address, so I can see what you've been up to. Here are a
couple of links that I think you'll find really useful:

You are correct but the definition of kit car depends on whether the amount
of parts assembled or unassembled can be considered a vehicle. In my case,
I will be importing only about 25% of the parts of a completed vehicle. And
the remaining 75% will be purchased in Canada. So its considered auto parts
as opposed to a "kitcar".

There is a lot of preapproval necessary regardless.

I visited your website but I didn't stay long. I can't handle the
popups. I can't imagine why anyone has to put that garbage on a personal
web site....

The only experience I ever had with that sort of thing was when I bought a
custom valve
cover for a Fiero engine from a Canadian supplier. It was relatively
inexpensive, but
I got a bill from a customs agent for clearance, etc that was twice the cost
of the cover.
I never expected any such add-ons. So, I would say that you need to go
directly to Canadian
customs and find out what they will charge, if you can clear it yourself,
etc.

They may be quite reasonable if the spirit of NAFTA is alive and well, but
you dont want
surprises.

That's odd Leon, I didn't get a single popup and I'm only using medium
security settings. I wonder if perhaps you have some spyware (malware)
cookies on your PC.

I run AdAware & Spybot Search & Destroy every few days plus I just
installed the latest McAfee Virus scanner. I also use Cookie Manager and
clean out the cookie folder every day. I don't know what the difference
would be... Maybe the fact that I use Netscape.

I went to the Website again and it was the Psycho Pathetic Bunny link
that provided the popup entertainment not his website. He needs to dump
that link.

My apologies for blaming his website.

I've updated the warning on that particular link. It's meant to put lots of
popups and open lots of browsers. Supposed to show a webpage with major
attitude problems.

I think that I've put enough warnings about clicking on that link.

Thanks for the warning Leon! I just went back to Eugene's website and
resisted the temptation to hit on the Bunny link!
