Re: 1993 Nissan Pathfinder running rough... |

Start with your basics and run a compression check. Should that be
alright, if it was mine, I'd go ahead and replace the timing
belt/tensioner with Nissan OEM parts. That way you know the belt
isn't going to snap soon and if the belt was replaced/disturbed for
some reason you've just eliminated that as being potentially off a
tooth or so.
From there make sure the plugs are good (use only NGK standards as
your replacement) and check your wires/cap/rotor. Also wiggle the air
flow sensor harness (big black connector) to make sure there isn't a
grounding issue.
Also don't forget to replace the fuel filter and don't rule out
cheap/old and `stale' fuel as well.
Let us know what you find. Glad to hear you found a replacement
Pathfinder but sorry to hear some bonehead stole your '95.

something for the snow - cheap. This was it. Anyhow, the engine is
running rough. I got this thing from a Church that resells donated
cars for charity so I don't know the history but it looks clean under
the hood. Any ideas why this thing is running rough? Thanks in
advance....
