Have you used it in the oil, TBI, and fuel? Did it cause any problems? (Foul
spark plugs, ect...)

Thanks,

Carl

Sounds good Hachi. I think I'll treat the fuel tank and TBI as reccomended
on the Seafoam site. I'll add 1/2 pint of Seafoam to the oil about 500 miles
before I change the oil. (Unless someone can reccomend a better
combination?)

Thanks to all.

I have a Chrysler LHS, and as we all know (or, some of us, anyway)
Chrysler's are notorious for their transmission problems.

Someone suggested a transmission fluid modifier, and said it was similar
to Marvel Mystery Oil. We were having a problem with a Subaru we sold; it
is a common problem and one that is just an annoyance. I couldn't find the
product the guy recommended, but I did find Sea Foam. Now, I am pretty
reluctant to put anything in my cars that doesn't belong there, but the
tranny was acting up: hesitation going into gear, clunking on occasions,
esp coming off the highway, rough shifting, etc. Now, I don't know how the
Sea Foam acted in the Suby, but almost immediately after putting a 16 oz.
can in my Chrysler, all the bad habits went away! No more clunking, hard
shfitng, hesitation or anything! It drives smooth as..as...a Toyota!

However: as far as oil goes, I have been using this combination for years:
Castrol GTX, 3.5 quarts, and 1 quart Marvel Mystery Oil. So, I'm putting
4.5 qts in a 4 qt crankcase, but have never had a problem. Two of these
cars have well over 200,000 miles on them! One has 259,000 and the other
210,000. Works for me!

Do you mean don't put seafoam in oil, or techron in oil? The Seafoam site
states that it is for use in engine oil.

Thanks,

Carl

I don't have any experience with Seafoam, never even heard of it but in

general, I would be reluctant to add anything other than EFI cleaner to the
fuel because of possible negative effects on the injectors and catylitic
converter. Toyota used to make an excellent EFI cleaner, I've heard good
things about Chevron Techron as well. Make sure you follow the directions
carefully because some EFI cleaners can eat hoses if left in the system too
long in strong concentrations. Buy name-brand gas from stations that sell a
lot of gas and you shouldn't have too many problems from water of dirty gas.

Seafoam is a LOT like Marvel. Amazingly so. I have run Marvel in both the
crankcase and occasionally in the tank. "top cylinder lubrication", you
know. Techron is a fuel additive only, and is only meant to go into the
tank. It is used to clean injectors and bust up carbon deposits in the
cylinders.
