HELP!!! Shooting for 300,000 miles but '85 Celica getting cr |

I'm having trouble with my '85 Celica. The condition of the car is now
to the point of me having to make a major decision whenever anything
costing over $25 goes wrong with it.
Lately it hasn't been wanting to start. It'll pop off right away, but
then die immediately. It will do this several times. Start and die,
start and die. If you pump the throttle a little (it's fuel injected and
I know you're not supposed to do that) it eventually starts. Depending
how cold it is outside. Which leads me to this suspicion: It ain't
getting any gas right away.
Yesterday it was down to about 25 degrees and here's what happened.
Engine only cranked and didn't try to start. Came back 5 or 10 minutes
later and tried it again. Car started and died immediately (a couple of
times). Waited 5 or 10 more minutes and tried again. Car immediately
started without any footfeed action.
Once the car starts, it always runs great. I don't think it's the fuel
pump (that may be too expensive anyway). So far I've put on a new fuel
filter, changed out the cold start injector with one from the junkyard,
and changed spark plugs and wires (coil wire too).
I bought this car new and I'd like to get 23,000 more miles out of it,
so if anyone can help it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Pat
