when I try to start my '98 Mustang, it takes way too long, it cranks
like it normally would, but continues to do so for about 5-8 seconds.
It only does this when it sits for a while (prolly more than about
an hour or so) once I get started, I can shut if off and it will
start perfectly normal. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated . . .

Sounds like your fuel pressure is bleeding off somewhere.

Uh.. no.

To find if that is the problem, simply cycle the fuel pump a couple times
before cranking, by switching ign on and off.

the problem MAY be leaking injector or Fuel press regulator... but not
likely if it cranks long time after a couple days.

The OP (orig poster) needs to answer a few more questions such as whether
it does this after sitting LONG term and if there are ANY other changes
in how it drives.

This should have been raised on "alt.autos.ford" as it's an engine
problem... I'm cross-posting this reply there.
Though Jim Warman reads both

Well First off I'd replace thermostate, while your at it drain and flush
radiator. Also if the Heater still continues to blow cold that could mean
a bad heater core which can be a pain to replace. An option is to bypass
the heater core by taking the two hoses off and coupling them together. I
had overheating issues and no heat, did the following and haven't had any
issues yet. One downfall is no heater in the winter, being the lazy man I
bought a power inverter and space heater to keep my car warm, hey it works

do with it!

Did "the shop" happen to say what code(s) were stored? That is the best
place to start. (CEL was/is on) The Idle Air Control valve (IAC) and/or a
dirty throttle bore could be it. Clean the throttle bore if it is dirty
first. It is a pretty common problem on Fords

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus V6 3.0L DOHC and about a month ago i was
driving it and i turned the lights on and only the blinker lights come
on. Everything else on the outside works just the inside part of the
dash. Some other lights come on too like the battery one and low
coolant and the two blinker lights just stay on. Everything else is
just dark. When i lower the dimmer on the dash then and put one of my
turn singals on then the radio and other electronics start blinking
rhythmically with the blinker. Im not sure what to do but i looked at
the fuses and i think there ok. If anyone can provide any help thanks.
Or if you need more information then just ask thenks again

The shop determined it wasn’t the O2 sensors just by me telling them
what was going on, I just took it to the shop this morning.. I should
hear from them soon. I have never had to take a car to a shop before,
so I’m afraid they may come up with some crazy problem or price... I
was just hoping someone here may have dealt with a similiar problem
and could give me a realistic opinion.. Thank you very much for your
thoughts... Hopefully the shop doesn’t screw me over... We’ll see...

1990 Ford Tempo, when idling the car stalls. I have replaced the TPS,
thermostat, and safety neutral switch, but it still continues to stall.

IIRC, that has port fuel injection. Clean or replace the Idle Speed
Control valve
