I have a question about a ford mercury sable se 1997.
When you try to take your car out of park to put into gear it won't move
but stays locked in park.
Any ideas.
Thanks
Deborah

check the brake lites, are they coming on when you depress the pedal?

If not, you may have a bad switch or broken wire at the switch. This also
causes your problem of the car not coming out of park

Switch is above pedal, at the pin that connects the brake cylinder shaft

Well that worked. Thank you very much for your kindness.
