I have a 1997 BMW 540i with a 6 disc changer. The CD changer was broken
then I bought the car. I finally decided to fix the changer, and I
noticed the data cable was broken. The wires were pulled out of the
cable end that connected to the changer in the trunk. I can not figure
out the wire order to the connector.

I was hoping someone out there may have the pin-out for the data cable.
Or would be willing to take a digital picture of there connector and
send it to me.

If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to comment.

Thanks,

David Cook

On my 97 540i, the square 6 pins connector shows :
pin 1---white
pin 2---black
pin 3---red/black
pin 4---red
pin 5---gray
pin 6---empty
I have a dsp amplifier but I don't think it change anything on the data
connector because it's the same part # (with or without dsp) for cd changer
up to 04/00.
I hope this will help
