intent. UNICEF gets the highest rating, four stars. 87.3% of donations
goes towards programs. I guess this link shows UNICEF is a very, very

You missed the point of my arguement. Yes, the donations go towards
programs. But the programs are mismanaged. Out of 100% of food going to
Africa, 1/3 spoils and 1/3 gets stolen, mostly by the governments
governing the people who are SUPPOSED to be getting the aid, and out of
the stolen rations, most of that gets sold to buy arms. So, UNICEF is
using 87.3% of their donations for programs, but the output is nowhere
near mathcing the input.
Send in the Marines! Oooooh-Rah!

It's funny, because I notice a lot that when there is a bad Liberal in the

there is a bad Conservative in office (you have ONE guess ONLY...) they
turn more to the Left.
Right now they are fairly middle-of the road, or leaning 'slightly' to the
left...
It was funny during the Reagan years; they were Left up until the shooting
and then started turning Right until George the 1st got elected...Then it
was Hard Left Rudder!!! |

plenty of sheep, export the wool and use the profits to feed themselves.
Let the wars end first. Then talk about sending food. Send in the Marines!

I just know that right now UNICEF is at the center of Food Aid in

Natalie: All charitable organizations can be suspect. How money is
distributed is a big deal for me, since I'd like to get more bang for the
bucks, but in the end, every little bit helps for most charities.
Oh, and I agree 100%. I don't have a whole lot of cash to give away,
so I am very careful about which charities I support. I am very
concerned that every dollar I give is put to the best possible use.
And a lot of times it is just that, a few dollars. No tax benefit
here!

The 'one' charity that seems worth giving to (Salvation Army) should
not be kicked out of their store fronts.
Publix super markets allow them.
I shop at Publix.

Just as it's unfair to judge all liberals as kooks, it's equally unfair to
judge all Christians by the acts of a small percentage. There are jerks in
every group, just by the law of averages, but your experiences do not
define
what *all* 'Jesus representatives' are.

I'm truly a "Progressive". I'm a baptised and saved Christian. I'm
also the sole breadwinner for my family, I believe in many "Traditional
Family Values", and to make matters worse, I don't even think that
mothers (or the "mother partner") in families should work until their
kids are at least in grammar school. I expect a hot meal on the table
when I come home from work, and clean socks in the morning. My wife
concurs.

I think most radical feminism is the Scourge of American Family Values,

unacceptable tactics. What they did to Roy Horn was unconscientiable.
So -- whenever I see folks like Scott and this Mark character, or that
"Mike Kunt" guy try to pigeonhole me as a "Liberal Kook", I have to
chuckle.

I resist labeling people, since it's not even a sound way to interact with
others. Jerks are jerks, regardless of affiliation or background.

But that's what you did when you called Eric those things. (Where *is* that
guy, anyway?!).
In those comments, you've effectively labeled every middle-class white male
as the devil. Simply isn't so. My hubby's a peach, for instance :-)
There is plenty more that both sides could be doing for the world, but in the
end, most of us just help ourselves. Sophistry passes the time, but doesn't
get a damned thing done.
