You're a geezer, Charles. "Bad" means "kewl" ;-)
OK, is kewl anything like cool? I admit I'm not a frood dude, but
I know where my towel is!
LOL! BTW, it's FROOPY! As in "That froopy Ford Prefect, ...he really
knows where his towel is!"
Wha...? I'm only 42 and I'm feelin' out of touch here. Isn't the
Prefect a '50s car?
Oh, and BTW, you're
42!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
43 in February. So how old are YOU, sonny?
^
LOL! Close the 3 in January!
And you don't know the answer to the question, Life, the Universe, and
Everything???????
Hey, everybody, he's
42!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, it's not like I was 16 or anything. 16 year-olds know everything,
don't they? I sure did when I was 16. Got dumber as I aged...
Nah...Just forgot more than most people will ever know! ;)
BTW, here's the reference, so you don't think I'm just being a nasty old
f...er...wellll...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Answer_to_Life%2C_the_Universe%2C_and_Everything
and for the whole story:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hitchhiker%27s_Guide_to_the_Galaxy
the first link will tell you the signifigance of '42' and the second is an
overview of the whole shebang. The other reason I'm being a little tongue
in cheek is because I'm 5 years older than you. This series came out when
I was in college, around 1977-78. You would have been 14-15, but I guess
you weren't watching PBS or the Canadian equiv. Still kinda odd, because
it was a British show.

Ah, now it makes a LOT more sense, thanks. This also explains a recent
thread in can.internet.highspeed, where somebody came in asking how many
Web design firms there were in Canada (like anybody knows). Some wag
answered "42". It sounded funny anyway, but now I'm sure I know where he
came up with that number.
Never read that book, although my wife has and it's sitting in a bookshelf
near me now.
Canadian TV carries PBS, so it would have been available to me back then.

Probably what you heard was "not all Toyota are the same." That
is much different than "not all the models of Toyota are the
same" Toyota makes good stuff but certainly not every one is a
good one. Toyota like every other manufacture makes some that
are not up to snuff on occasion that is why they all have a
warranty.

Hesham -
Don't mind these guys, most of them are just acting silly. Toyota
makes good cars, much better than average among all car makers, but
occasionally ones do slip through that have problems. The current
generation of Corolla is on its third year of this model and should
have most bugs of the bugs worked out. I haven't heard of anyone who
truly has a troublesome Corolla. I have a 2003 Matrix (based on the
2003 Corolla) and it's been a great car and trouble free for its
32,000 mile life so far. If you have questions about a specific model
year, try checking edmunds.com, or Consumer Reports, or post your
question here and someone might give you a straight answer ;-)
Believe it or not some of these guys really do know a lot about
Toyotas.

Well, here's a hint. You'll have to roll your own 'cigarettes', smoke one
and THEN read the books. That way, you'll get the full impact. Kinda like
Monty Python...doesn't make a whole lotta sense now, but it sure was
hilarious back then! |

Do you have the last 4 part trilogy, or the updated 5 part trilogy |
edition?
I have the 4 part, but can't decide whether to find an updated 5 parter
and re-read the lot, or just get "Mostly Harmless". I keep thinking, if
I get an updated issue there might be some re-writes that will ruin it
for me.

You missed the joke. Belgium is a very naughty word in the world of HHTG.
At least mine were smart enough to LEAVE Belgium and move to America. My
Canadian, French, German, etc ancestors all had one thing in common: They
left wherever they were at and had the smarts to move to America.

They do? I'll bet most Canadians have no idea where Belgium is.
Canadians laugh at people from the province of Newfoundland ("Newfies").
