I bought a 2002 Altima SL new two years ago. It has the Bose Premium sound
system, but I did not equip it with the navigation system at the time. I
didn't know much about them then and didn't think it worth it. Since that
time, I have another car (Lexus) with a navigation system and love it. I
wanted to find out if it is possible to add the navigation system to the
Altima afterwards, having it just as integrated and built in as if I had
bought it equipped with it originally. Anyone know ? (I am aware there
are 3rd party in dash nav systems such as the Pioneer. Just wanted to first
check on the Nissan integrated one.)

Actually, I see now that the navigation system appears not to have been an
option at all in 2004 (I would probably had passed on it at the time even if
it had been.) But I also see that it is now an option for the 2005 Altima.
So the question now becomes whether the nav system from the 2005 can be
retrofitted into a 2002 ?

It would be cheaper and easier to go with third party...
